Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 6:30 PM9:30 PM

Join us in a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Association of Muslim American Lawyers (AMAL). The theme if the Gala this year is, “Muslim Civil Rights Beyond National Politics.” We are looking forward to highlighting many of AMAL’s major achievement in the last decade, hearing from respected lawyers, judges, and civil rights advocates, and honoring individuals and organizations who stand out for their achievements in promoting equality and justice.

[]]AMAL is at the forefront of the many civil rights, civil liberty and constitutional questions facing America. The AMAL Gala will focus on cutting-edge discussion about the state of Civil Rights in the United States — a discussion that is especially relevant in light of the firestorm of race riots, hate crimes, National Anthem protests, calls for drastic immigration reform, Islamophobia, illegal surveillance, profiling, and police brutality — all of which is set against the backdrop of one of the most divisive presidential elections in recent memory.

The inaugural AMAL Gala will take place on Thursday, November 3, 2016, at the Midtown Hilton Hotel, in New York City.

We are honored to have Letiticia James, Public Advocate for the City of New York, Zachary Carter, Corporation Counsel of the City of New York, and Vince Warren, the Center for Constitutional Rights, joining us for this special evening.

Our gala will be hosted by the illustrious Dean Obeidallah, SiriusXM radio host for The Dean Obeidallah show -which is the only daily national radio show hosted by a Muslim American, and frequent CNN contributor and comedian.

Early bird tickets – $120 (until 10/11)
